An Original Approach to Arby's Launches

The Challenge

AC Barbeque, founded by friends, comedy titans and grilling enthusiasts Anthony Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer had partnered with Arby’s to launch two new BBQ sandwiches paired with two delicious AC Barbeque sauces. Cedric wanted to turn up the heat on this limited time offering, creating content to support the collaboration.

Moosylvania cooked up a strategy that saw Cedric take over an Arby’s restaurant, entertaining fans and staff, and serving up a lot of laughter (and a lot of sandwiches).

Our 4 post content series earned more than a million organic impressions, 65 thousand post interactions and led Ced to come back for seconds, partnering with Moose to heat up his personal social channels.

Moosylvania invited Cedric The Entertainer to lunch, and turned it into a literal working lunch! Our agency crew leaped into action to meet Cedric at the nearest Arby’s to write, direct and film on-location comedy skits on the spot. The most popular sketch featured Cedric manning the cash register, promoting his new sauce collaboration while dodging the inevitable fans that think they recognize him. This concept earned nearly 1M organic views and 57K likes.

A comedic King Of Comedy legend, Cedric on the spot improved as both the drive through employee and customer! Moosylvania was there to produce, film and edit this comedic skit.

Moosylvania ideated the quick concept of Cedric surprising a customer and our voyeuristic cameras caught the  comedic organic feeling customer reaction of Cedric schooling him on how to correctly sauce his sandwich.

Exploring the full Arby’s space from inside and out, and to maximize our content output we filmed a fourth sketch of Cedric, a big sports fan harnessing the spirit of the stadium vendor grabbing customer’s attention and dishing out the new collaboration sauce packets!

Going above and beyond with our AC BBQ x Arby’s collaboration sauce organic content and proving authentic fan engagement relevance  lead to Arby’s being hungry for more Cedric content partnership. We coordinated a second collaboration for the comedic teasing of Arby’s new “Steak Nuggets” product launch!
