Target hit the bullseye with its Wicked campaign, which brought Oz to fans and capitalized on the buzz surrounding the blockbuster film. The Minneapolis-based company was the exclusive retailer for nearly all official Wicked merch, including limited-edition Stanley Quenchers and a clothing line created by the movie’s costume designer.

Each of the top 24 collabs struck a chord with fans for its own unique reason, but we noticed a few trends in the voting.


#1 That Takes Us Back.

Nostalgia is a powerful emotion and campaigns like the Polly Pocket Airbnb rental and Cadbury’s Memory Boxes to support Alzheimer’s research evoked that emotion to great effect this year.

Our own collab with 4 Hands Brewing aimed to hit on that same feeling.

#2 Are you not entertained?

Who doesn’t love to laugh? Some of the collabs this year worked by delivering the funny. Like CeraVe making it clear that Michael Cera did not actually develop their skin cream, and Dunkin’ introducing the world to the Dunkings and those sweet tracksuits.

The laughs (and drinks) were flowing when Moose brought E&J and Spice Adams together.

#3 There’s at least some accounting for good taste.

Several collabs really hit the spot by giving consumers something to, well, consume. Wendy’s hooked up with Spongebob to allow fans to finally enjoy a Krabby Patty and Coca-Cola and Oreo became best friends (for a limited time).

Fans can’t stop raving about the taste of Pink Whitney, a collab between New Amsterdam Vodka and Barstool Sports, which Moose helped launch.
